Babies > Puppies?

Since the weather has been so nice we have been taking Laney on lots of walks.  Because of this adorable munchkin we have become very popular in our subdivision.  It brought me back to our first summer living here when Indy was a puppy.  We would go on a walk with Indy and people would stop to talk to us and introduce themselves.  We met most of our neighbors while walking puppy Indy.  Since Indy is now a giant 100lbs dog no one will come near us!  But now there is another pint sized people catcher and her name is Laney.  Since the walks have started we have met new neighbors and re-met some others.  I will leave you to decide which is better for meeting the neighbors.

SPRING!

Today was a beautiful Spring day of 80 degrees, enjoying the weather we took Laney into the grass for the first time.  I am not sure how she felt about it.  I will let you decide after looking at the following pictures and video.
Dad, you sure are a good sun blocker!

This is not so bad

Is it bad that I LOVE this face?

Happy to be sitting on Daddy's leg!

Mom's First Night Away

You know the saying... when the cat's away..

Last weekend was Jamie's first night away from Laney since she was born - so Laney got to spend lots of time with Daddy.

We started the weekend off right when Laney slept 11 hours (in a row) Friday night. That's because she knows I mean business - I read a pretty handy book about going to sleep. I'm a pretty heavy sleeper, so I had the monitor cranked up. So don't go thinking I just slept through the crying! (Did I?)

Saturday was harder, handling everything and yet seeming to get nothing done. At lunchtime I wanted to get a shamrock shake, so we got all bundled up and went out. Got in line, ordered my food.... forgot the shamrock shake. Laney totally forgot to remind me - she was grounded the rest of the night.

We spent the afternoon in the backyard, in the beautiful weather.

We went to have dinner with Aunt Carey and Grandma and Grandpa McAdam. Afterwards, we strolled down to Frosty Boy. We got a baby cone... for Bailey. Sorry, Laney - no ice cream for you!

For those of you keeping score... Laney 1, spreadsheets 0.

Ryan

PS - We sent lots of pictures to Jamie to make her feel better! Enjoy!

Playing with dinosaur (promptly went in her mouth)

Pulling off her socks... since they don't match. :-(

Shoved in a corner to practice sitting up!

Letting Indy smell her onion breath!

Laney Laughing

Every morning Laney and I play.  This is the part she enjoys!  Not so much the tummy time or me trying to help her roll over.  As you can see, she is now grabbing quite well and she always goes for my hair and ears!

Adventures in Rolling over

I tried using her Elephant above and her pacifier below as motivation to turn over.

My most recent post about Laney and Indy got me thinking about all of Laney's other animal interactions.  My parent's dog Bailey is super good with Laney - he lets her pull his fur.  He is always right in her face saying "Hi"  My sister's dog Sami gets upset whenever Laney cries and will pace around trying to get someone to fix it.  Ryan's parent's dog Zoe is okay with Laney unless Elaine is holding her - then she is pretty jealous.  Zoe is Elaine's baby and wants to be in her lap when Laney is there.  By far the most interesting interaction has been that of Laney and my best friend Lori's dog Izzy.  Izzy is a little high strung to begin with but it was unexpected how scared - that is right down right petrified of Laney she was.  When we introduced them Izzy had her tail in between her legs, whining, and sat on Lori's feet shivering.  I felt so bad for her!  To be fair Izzy is only 35 lbs I am sure Laney could take her in a fight!  We will continue to introduce Izzy to Laney slowly and hopefully she can get comfortable enough to stop shivering!

I will upload some pictures of Laney and her other animals when I get some.

Super Baby Indy Attack! 3/10/12

Laney in Indy's Arms - while his eyes say "Why is the baby right there?"
Laney is starting to grab at Indy now - he is not sure how he feels about this tiny person abusing him.  There have been a few times that Laney has successfully grabbed a tuft of fur, which she promptly puts in her mouth!  Indy recently tore a tendon in his knee leaving him not feeling the best.  He has still been loving and leery of Laney just like normal though.  I am excited to see Laney grow up and be able to give Indy more "affection."

I turn over with a little help from my friends

Wow have I been bad!

I just checked the last time I updated and I am ashamed of myself. Life has been crazy - as it is when you have a now 5 month old! Ryan took his last CPA test last week so Laney and I have been enjoying a little more Ryan time. Laney is as adorable as ever!
Laney sitting at the table like a big girl!  This was at the fancy restaurant at School Craft when we went up to visit Lori.
